The Delegation of Graduate School of Human-Environment Studies, Kyushu University, Japan, headed by Professor Toshiko Nonomura, made an academic visit to East China Normal University from March 1st to 2nd, 2017. Associate Professor Fuyi Yang, Director of the International Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education, East China Normal University, gave a warm welcome to them and hosted the activities.
On March 2nd, Professor Zunmin Wu from Department of Education, Associate Professor Qian Liu from Department of Preschool Education, and Associate Professor Yaozong Hu from Department of Educational Administration respectively delivered an academic report to the visiting teachers and students from Kyushu University.
In the morning, Professor Wu gave a report on “Educational Policy, Educational Politics and Educational Administration: Discussion on the Research of Educational Policy in the UK, the USA and Japan” to the delegation in terms of research mechanism, research characteristics and research status. The participants carried out in-depth academic exchanges and interactions with Prof. Wu after the report.
In the afternoon, Associate Professor Liu discussed the status quo of the development of preschool education in China with a report entitled “Development Trend of Chinese Preschool Education from An International Perspective” and shared findings of her recent research. Associate Professor Hu later illustrated college entrance examination system in China from the aspects of changes of the system, pattern of colleges and universities, enrollment examination system, elementary education institutes and involved candidates.
Three professors provided a feast of academic research to the delegation and received warm responses. In the meantime, active interaction and communication between two sides promoted further academic exchanges and cooperation.
Before academic reports, the delegation had a visit in Shanghai Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School and the Second High School affiliated to East China Normal University on March 1st.
In the morning, the delegation observed a Japanese lesson held in Senior Two, Shanghai Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School and had a group discussion and communication in class. The delegation also met with the principal Guohua Liu to explore further possible cooperation between two sides.
In the afternoon, the delegation came to the Pudong campus of the Second High School affiliated to East China Normal University, and observed a senior one students’ Maths lesson in the school.
Interactions with local schools acted as a cultural bridge between the two great nations.
