Delegation from Queens University, Canada Visits Faculty of Education

On November 21st, 2017, three delegates from Queens University, Canada visited the Faculty of Education of ECNU to negotiate issues regarding cooperation. Prof. Brenda Brouwer (Vice Dean of the Teaching Department & Dean of the Graduate College), Prof. Rebecca-Kapler (Dean of Faculty of Education) and Dr. Zhang Zhiyao (Director of Queen’s-China Liaison Office) from Queens University, Canada attended a conference with representatives from the Faculty of Education of ECNU, including Prof. Wang Haiping (General Secretary of the Party Committee), Yang Fuyi (Director of the International Affairs Division), Hu Yuman(Officer of the International Affairs Division), Baiyun (Director of the Instruction Affairs Division), Hua Chunyan (Director of the Professional Degree Office of the Graduate College) and Qiu Yue (Officer of the International Exchange Division of ECNU).


Firstly, Prof. Wang Haiping warmly welcomed the delegation from Queens University and then introduced the history and development of the Faculty of Education, as well as the key development strategy of training future education leaders while also helping to further realize education internationalization through showing a strong willingness to carry out cooperation with world-class universities such as Queens University. Based on the postgraduate training, Hua Chunyan illustrated the approach and strategy of carrying out international collaboration. Prof. Brenda Brouwer and Prof. Rebecca-Kapler made an introduction of Queens University and the Faculty of Education separately, showing the hope of cooperation on several fields, such as joint-training of postgraduate and short-term staff, and student exchange programs etc. Bai Yun and Yang Fuyi also joined the discussion on the topic of joint-training of postgraduate and related affairs.


Queens University is the second oldest university in Ontario, Canada. It was established under the direction of Queen Victoria’s royal charter in 1841, and has been regarded as one of Canada’s top universities and the member of The Old Four, together with McGill University, University of Western Ontario and University of Toronto.

Queens University has maintained a high standard on academics, and is famous for many fields, such as biology, medicine, business, engineering, law, art, science as well as education.
