On the afternoon of April 13th, 2017, Dr. Randolph Wimmer, Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta, Dr. Lynette Shultz, Associate Dean for International Affairs, Lucy De Fabrizio, Program Director for International Affairs came to visit the Faculty of Education, East China Normal University. Dr. Zhengguo Yuan, Dean of the Faculty of Education, East China Normal University, Yue Qiu, Program Manager and International Relations Coordinator of the International Exchange Division, East China Normal University, Dr. Fuyi Yang, Director of the International Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Yun Bai, Director of the Instruction Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education, Bo Li from the Office of Leading Discipline of Education of the Faculty of Education and Qun Zhou from the International Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education attended the meeting.
Both sides introduced the general situation of educational discipline respectively, and mainly focused on undergraduate programs to discuss the possibilities of undergraduate research cooperation and explore various ways of cooperation, such as joint research, student exchange and remote teaching. The cooperation on undergraduate programs gradually extended to joint degree programs for graduate students and communication and cooperation between teachers of both sides, will promote both sides to establish long-term and deeply cooperative relations.
East China Normal University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of Alberta in 2012. The former School of Educational Science, East China Normal University and the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta also had academic exchanges in 2012 and 2014. It is the first time that the delegation of the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta came and visited us after the establishment of the Faculty of Education, East China Normal University.
