The Summit Forum to Improve the Quality of Special Education Held at ECNU: Special Education Experts Gather by The Liwa River to Improve the Quality of Education by Establishing an Action

For the better implementation of the newly revised Regulations on the Education of the Disabled and to improve the quality of special education, the Summit Forum Improving the Quality of Special Education sponsored by the Faculty of Education, the Shanghai Disabled Persons Federation and the Special Education in China was held at ECNU Zhongshan Campus on the third of June. Li Tianshun, the inspector of the Department of Basic Education in the Ministry of Education, Li Dongmei, the deputy director of the Education and Employment Department in the Chinese Disabled Persons Federation, Jia Wei, the deputy director of the Shanghai Education Committee, Guo Yongjun, the vice chairman of the Education and Employment Department in the Chinese Disabled Persons Federation, Huang Wei, the chief of the Special Education Session of the Department of Basic Education in the Ministry of Education, Chen Dongzhen, the investigator of Basic Education Session in Shanghai Education Committee, Yuan Zhenguo, the dean of the Faculty of Education of ECNU and Wang Haiping, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Faculty of Education attended the meeting. More than 300 domestic experts and scholars in the field of special education and headmasters and teachers also participated in this forum. Vice president Dai Liyi attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was hosted by Li Zhengtao, the deputy dean of the Faculty of Educaiton.


In the forum, Dai Liyi, Guo Yongjun and Jia Wei gave a speech one by one. At the end of the opening ceremony, Jiang Qindi, the secretary of the Party of the Special Education Department in the Faculty of Education in ECNU read the Proposal of Improving the Quality of Special Education and advocated to establish an action alliance to improve the quality of education.






In the morning session of the meeting, Li Tianshun, Li Dongmei, and Fang Junming, the dean of the Institute of Special Education delivered keynote speeches respectively. The keynote speech was hosted by Professor Wang Haiping.





In the theme discussion part, fifteen well-known special education experts, scholars, administrators and principal representatives were divided into three groups and respectively discussed three topics.




In the process of discussing each topic, in addition to the different views of the guests, the live audience also participated actively. At the end of the forum, Professor Fang Junming made a concluding statement.

The Forum opened a live webcast also. From preliminary statistics, more than 28 thousand participants watched and participated in this forum. They raised questions, expressed opinions and had positive interaction online.
