On May 28, the academic forum for ‘Focusing on the Internal Justice of Schools’ sponsored by Shanghai Scientific Research and Innovation Base of ‘A Study on Education Equity of a Powerful Country in Education’ and the Faculty of Education of East China Normal University was held at ECNU. Xie Chao, the full-time vice chairman of Shanghai Social Sciences Association and Wang Rongming, the vice president of ECNU attended the forum and delivered speeches. More than 20 scholars, including experts on education fairness research, education administrators and principals from primary and secondary schools, were invited to attend and deliver keynote speeches, along with more than 100 persons from all over the country. Wu Ruijun, director of the Office of Humanities and Social Sciences of ECNU presided over the opening ceremony. The meeting was about ‘School Management and Education Fairness’, ‘Education Fairness in Curriculum Teaching’, ‘ Education Equity in Teaching Evaluation and Examination’ and so on.
In the morning session, many guests delivered their speech respectively, including Professor Xiang Xianming, Professor Yang Xiaowei, Professor Feng Jianjun of ECNU, Director Zhang Xi of the Basic Education Institute of Beijing Education Science College, Principal Zhang Renli of Jing’an Education College Affiliated School in Shanghai and Principal Liu Lunbin of Rongshan Primary School, who is also the chairman of Rong Gui Yu Mei Education Group in Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province.
In the afternoon session, Liu Zhijun, vice president of Henan University, Liu Jianming, professor of Zhejiang Normal University, Fei Wei, the deputy director of Jianggan Education Bureau in Hangzhou, and Yu Jintuan, the deputy director of Ronggui Education Bureau in Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, gave their related speeches. Then, three primary school principals from Ganquan Foreign School, Xunyang Road Primary School of Shanghai, and Taicang City Experimental Primary School shared their practical experiences of promoting the school’s internal equity at their own schools.
Other scholars also put forward their own analysis and interpretation of the fairness within the school from different angles. At the closing ceremony, Yuan Zhenguo, Dean of the Faculty of Education of ECNU, made a concluding speech.
