On December 16th, 2019, a 9-member delegation from Soon Chun Hyang University(SCH), Korea, headed by Kwak Jung In (Professor of Preschool Education) and Kim Yoonhee (Professor of Physical Education), visited the Faculty of Education, ECNU. The members from the Faculty of Education, ECNU including Li Zhaocun (Associate Director of Department of Preschool Education), Li Shichang (Former Associate Dean of School of Sports and Health), Zhu Yiming (Professor of Department of Education Science), Qiu Yue (Director of the International Affairs Division) and graduate students from the Department of Preschool Education attended the meeting.
During the talks, Qiu Yue extended a warm welcome to the delegation from SCH on behalf of the Faculty of Education, and briefly introduced the history and organizational structure of the Faculty. Later, the two sides learned more about each other by watching promotional videos.
Prof. Li Zhaocun, Prof. Li Shichang, and Prof.Zhu Yimin respectively gave a brief introduction on Department of Preschool Education, Physical Education and Department of Education Science.
On the basis of their initial understanding, the two sides actively interacted on issues of concern, and learned in detail about the age groups, teacher qualifications, teacher-student ratios, and on-the-job education of preschool education in China and South Korea. Discussions were also focused on topics such as physical education at school, recruitment and instruction of talented athletes in fundamental education stage in China. The postgraduate students also actively interacted with each other based on their own study and practice. The atmosphere of on-site communication was warm and active.
After the meeting, the delegation also visited the kindergarten affiliated to ECNU and had in-depth exchanges with the kindergarten leaders on children’s daily life, age segmentation, and parents interaction frequency, ect.
