From October 25 to 26, Professor Jandhyala B. G. Tilak, president of India Education Planning and Management National University was invited to visit the National Institute for Educational Macro Policy. Ren Youqun, deputy Party secretary and vice president of East China Normal University, and Chen Guoliang, president of Shanghai Academy of Educational Science met with Professor Tilak.
Chen Guoliang gave Professor Tilak a detailed introduction about the founding background and current situation of the research institute. Then he focused on the core system developed by the institute, named National Service System for Educational Science Decision Making”, which is a key project of “informatization construction of educational service and supervision system” of the Ministry of Education. It makes full use of modern information technology, integrates all kinds of education data, effectively connects data resources of economic society and international comparison, and establishes a core platform for decision support, which serves to enhance the ability of macro management of education and accelerate the modernization of China’s education.
Then Chen Guoliang demonstrated “National Service System for Educational Science Decision Making”, Professor Tilak claimed that it was a perfect integration of educational management, decision research and information technology applications. He also expressed his wish for further exchanges in scientific research and the construction of think-tanks between the two sides.
