From November 16th to 29th, 2019, The delegation including Dr. Liang Li, Ph.D students Xianyu Meng and Elham Mohammadi Foomani, from the Faculty of Education, Monash University visited the Faculty of Education, ECNU.This is the second delegation visit from Monash University since the signing of International Academic Exchange Week Agreement last year.
During their visit, A variety of activities were arranged.
Library Culture
On the morning of 18th November, Ph.D student Elham Mohammadi Foomani visited the Faculty of Education and the school library with Ph.D student Sun Huiping from the Department of Education Sciences. Elham visited Meng Xiancheng Education Library with the company of Qiu Yue (Director of the International Affairs Division) and Zhou Xu (Staff from Meng Xiancheng Education Library).
Academic Forum for Ph.D Students
On the afternoon of 19th November, Elham attended the 19th Academic Forum for Ph.D students held by School of Teacher Education. She shared her own research project called “Iranian Female Teachers of English: A Case Study of Language, Identity and Power” in terms of research questions, methods and results.
Face to Face Academic Exchange Activities
On the morning of 20th November, Elham had a face-to-face academic exchange with Professor Ding Gang, Head of Institute for Advanced Studies in Education. They exchanged ideas about researches on languages. Professor Ding provided some effective suggestions on Elham’s research.
Academic Forum
On 18th to 20th November, Dr. Liang Li and Xianyu Meng from Monash University participated in the Academic Forum “the Second Evaluation and Improvement of Preschool Education Quality”. On the morning of 19th November, Xianyu Meng brought a wonderful report entitled “Research on Emotional Regulation of Children in Intensive Parenting Projects — A Case Analysis under the Cultural Historical View” in the sub-forum of “Children and Teachers” . Dr. Liang Li gave two reports “Exploration of Kindergarten Teacher Game Teaching Practice” and “Capturing the Transitional Moment: Emotional Teaching Method for Infant Teachers” in two sub-forums respectively to share her research results.
Welcome Meeting
On the afternoon of 20th November, the International Affairs Division and the Instruction Affairs Division of the Faculty held a warm welcome meeting for the delegation in Room 201of Wen Ke biulding. The two sides reached common consensus on buliding up more exchange programs and further cooperation.
Discussion with Professors
During the exchange week, Associate Professor Shane Phillipson and Dr. Philip Chan from Faculty of education, Monash University also visited of Faculty of Education, ECNU. Shane delivered a presentation on Teacher Expertise and the Power of Relationships — Lessons from Finland, Hong Kong, Australia and the US.
After the presentation, Jiang Jin (Deputy secretary of General Communist Party Committee of School of Teacher Education), Ni Ziran (Secretary of International Affairs from School of Teacher Education), Qiu Yue (Director of the International Affairs Division of Faculty of Education) had a discussion with delegation about future collaboration on educational internship projects, staff exchange programs, and joint academic researches, and so forth.
