Department of Arts Education

Department of Arts Education belongs to Faculty of Education, East China Normal University, and began to recruit students since 2002. It is the first undergraduate major settled in China by Ministry of Education of P. R. China to cultivate inter-disciplinary talent in the area of arts education, with solid humanistic and social science background, basic theories of arts and social discipline, as well as strong arts education practical ability and integrated arts speciality. The department mainly fosters arts teacher of kindergarten, ordinary school and special school, as well as Children’s arts education workers for after-school institutions. Based on the Chinese undergraduate education competitiveness list released by Research Center for Chinese Science Evaluation (RCCSE), Evaluation Center for Chinese Education Quality and Chinese Science and Education Network, Department of Arts Education, East China Normal University ranked No.1 for five consecutive years.
