Academic lecture delivered by Prof. Laurent Cosnefroy and JORISS Educational Platform Construction Seminar is Successfully Organized by Faculty of Education

On October 12th, 2016, Prof. Laurent Cosnefroy from Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon) delivered an academic lecture at the Faculty of Education, ECNU. Students from Chinese-French class, and teachers from Faculty of Education attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Yang Fuyi, Director of International Affairs Division of Faculty of Education.

Prof. Laurent Cosnefroy delivered a speech on “Exploration of Higher Education Quality—Concept of Deep Learning”. First, he introduced various kinds of memorizing under different language backgrounds and gave a new understanding of deep learning and shallow learning. Then, he raised several questions, such as whether deep learning was always efficient and what kind of evaluation system could facilitate deep learning.

The lecture received great feedback from the audience, who raised questions actively and had a warm interaction with Prof. Laurent Cosnefroy.

After the lecture, the JORRIS educational platform construction seminar was held in the Tianjiabing Building. The topic was about the progress of the Sino French joint research project and how to strengthen the collaboration. Prof. Laurent Cosnefroy, Liu Xiaoyan (International Exchange Division), Yang Fuyi, Zhou Qun (International Affair Division of Faculty of Education), Cai Shangzhi, Yang Yifan (Teaching Affair Division of Faculty of Education) and Zheng Tainian (Institute of International and Comparative Education) attended the seminar.


Prof. Laurent Cosnefroy showed his expectation of carrying out collaborations in the following four fields: 1.Educational Policy and School Management; 2.National Curriculum and School-based Curriculum; 3.Issues of Knowledge and Skills; 4.Issues of Professional Development.

The two sides exchanged the basic information of several relative collaboration fields and hoped to deepen future communication as well as to facilitate exchange programs.
