On March 22nd, Professor Wu Chingji, President of Taiwan Education University, visited The National Training Center for Secondary School Principals, Ministry of Education in East China Normal University and delivered a report, titled “Devoted to Education With Heartfelt Delight”, to trainees of the 33th National Advanced Seminar for Outstanding Principal of Secondary Schools. Professor Dai Ruihua, Director of Training Center for Secondary School Principals of Education Ministry presided the seminar.
First, Professor Wu Chingji looked back on the past intimate cooperation with the Training Center. Then, he started his speech focusing on the importance of education for people’s lives and the urgent demand for education in society, and elaborated his understanding and inspiration of education mainly from six perspectives: education is projecting hope for human-kind, education is a romantic work with the goal of enabling all who learn and study to find happiness, education is one of the most credible works, education is an aspiration of love, how to be a modern teacher with high added value, and how people need to practice these perspectives in official affairs.
The report triggered heated discussion between Professor Wu and the trainees, which was centered on the comparison of cross-strait education development.
