2018 International Forum of Young Scholars — Education Sub-Forum of East China Normal University Successfully Held

The 2018 International Forum of Young Scholars—Education Sub-forum and Postdoctoral Summit Seminar of East China Normal University was held at Zhongbei Campus on April 28, 2018.

The forum was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of the library and presided over by Zhao Li, director of the Human Resources Division of the Faculty of Education. Pan Xingming, the representative of the Faculty Committee of ECNU, Wang Haiping, the general secretary of the Party Committee of the Faculty of Education, Yang Xiangdong, the director of the Department of Educational Psychology, Li Mei, the secretary of the Party Branch of the Institute of Higher Education, and more than 100 teachers and students attended the forum.


Professor Wang Haiping and Professor Yang Xiangdong, respectively gave a speech. First of all, on behalf of the Faculty of Education, Professor Wang extended a warm welcome to the participants of the International Forum of Young Scholars — Education Sub-forum. She pointed out that contemporary young scholars should have the heavy responsibility of developing education in the future and this forum is of great significance. Professor Yang Xiangdong then focused on the development of the newly established Department of Educational Psychology in the context of the rapid development of the Faculty of Education.

Dr. Guo Jie from the Catholic University of Australia and Dr. A.Y.M. Atiquil Islam from the Mobile Post-doctoral Station of Education in East China Normal University respectively presented an academic report entitled “How to Use International Public Data to Study the Frontier Education and Psychology Issues” and “Logic Integration of Higher Education Ideas”, arousing a lively discussion among the participants. In the consultation part on talent introduction after the report, Zhao Li, and Xiang Chunping from the Human Resources Division, and Zhang Anran from the High-Peak Discipline Office of the Faculty of Education, provided detailed answers to the participants’ questions about recruitment.


In the afternoon, the Education Sub-forum continued to be held in Conference Room 116 Room 201and Room 401 in the form of a group seminar, respectively presided over by Dr. Liu Chang, a post-doctoral researcher, Dr. Zheng Chanjin of the Department of Educational Psychology and Professor Cheng Liang of the Department of Education, and the departments in related researches also sent the representative teachers to attend the forum. Fourteen young scholars from famous colleges and universities at home and abroad gave academic reports in turn and had in-depth exchanges with the participants.




The forum provided a platform for academic exchanges and in-depth cooperation among outstanding young scholars at home and abroad. It enhanced the participants’ understanding of the Faculty of Education and played an important role in strengthening the reserve of young talents for the Faculty of Education, promoting the construction of teaching staff and raising the level of internationalization.
