On the morning of June 29, 2018, Professor Andrew Daire, dean of the School of Education of Virginia Commonwealth University and Professor Xu Yaoying visited the Faculty of Education, ECNU. Director Yang Fuiyi, Hu Yuman from the International Affairs Division, and Director Bai Yun, and Cai Shangzhi from the Instruction Affairs Division, were present.
At the beginning of the meeting, on behalf of ECNU, Professor Yang Fuiyi warmly welcomed the delegation, and shared the latest issue of the ECNU Review of Education, which is an international scholarly journal initiated by East China Normal University. The journal made its debut in New York City, United States, on April 15, and it marks the first time for an English-language journal compiled by a Chinese university to be launched abroad. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged information on the following aspects: the faculty and research subject settings, the curriculum arrangement and so on. In this meeting, the two sides reached a preliminary agreement on the cooperation concerning the international academic week and long-term & short-term student exchange programs. Follow-up meetings will be arranged to discuss the details.
In recent years, the Faculty of Education, ECNU, has been actively engaged in various academic exchanges and visiting with high-level universities abroad, aiming at promoting the internationalization and the development of the first-class disciplines in education. These exchanges and further internationalization will provide more opportunities for students to study abroad.
