Introduction

East China Normal University is located in Shanghai, and is one of the “Double First-Class” universities (i.e., world-class universities and first-class disciplines) in China. ECNU is approaching fast to its goal of becoming an internationally renowned high-level research university with a number of well-disciplined and well-coordinated disciplinary development. It strives to become a world-class research university by 2020 and to build itself into a first-class university in the world by the middle of the 21st century. Education Science is a core subject of East China Normal University. The Faculty of Education not only inherits the experience and advantage of traditional education and research, but also adheres to the development concept of internationalization, informatization and interdisciplinary, so as to continuously improves Chinese education research level and China education quality and provide the experience of China to facilitate the healthy development of world education. Currently, our research focuses on four aspects: learning science research focusing on deep learning, curriculum development research focusing on core competencies, education theories and practices of school reform in Chinese context, and macro policy research focusing on equity and innovation.All research projects are encouraged to conduct with empirical evidence-based approaches.

Department of Education Science

Candidates should be qualified for the education in the core courses and advanced courses of the subject.	Employees will receive relevant benefits granted by national authorities and the school as well as complementary benefits provided by the department during his/her employment.
	Zijiang Outstanding Young Scholar		Candidates should not be elder than 45 years old in principle and have received a doctorate from or engaged in post-doctoral research at a high-level foreign or domestic university or research institution, with influential research achievement recognized by peers in the research field and determined to and capable of becoming an academic or technical leader in the field. After five years of learning, employees should meet similar criteria as those applied for candidates in such national high-level talent programs as “Chang Jiang Scholars”, “The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, etc.	Annual salary: over RMB350,000 (excluding the subsidy granted by the department); housing allowance and fund for scientific research to be discussed.
	Zijiang Young Scholar		Candidates should not be elder than 40 years old in principle and have received a doctorate from or engaged in post-doctoral research at a high-level foreign or domestic university or research institution, with outstanding research achievement recognized by peers in the research field and having great development potential. After five years of learning, employees should meet similar criteria as those applied for candidates in such national high-level young talent programs as “Young TopNotch Talents”, “Outstanding Youth”, etc.	Annual salary: over RMB200,000 (excluding the subsidy granted by the department); housing allowance and fund for scientific research to be discussed.
