Delegation from University of Ottawa, Canada Visits Faculty of Education

On November 14th, 2018, a delegation from University of Ottawa, Canada composed of Dean of Faculty of Education Richard Barwell, Timothy Stanley (Director of China Program, the Faculty of Education), and Charles Chen (Director of the International Department for China Program),visited Faculty of Education, ECNU, aiming at promoting the exchange and collaboration in education disciplines of the two universities on the basis of previous collaborations. Dean of Faculty of Education Yuan Zhenguo, Yang Fuyi (Director of the International Affairs Division), Zhao Qi (Director of the Instruction Affairs Division) and Qiu Yue (Officer of the International Affairs Division) attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides highly recognized the efforts made by the two universities in the exchange programs of educational disciplines since June 2017. Dean Yuan Zhenguo said that Faculty of Education of ECNU has connections and collaborations with a number of well-known institutes of education among Canadian universities in recent years, including University of Victoria, University of Toronto, University of Alberta, Queen’s University, McGill University. University of Ottawa is also a world-famous university for its academic research. Both sides hope to find the identifying areas for further collaborations as soon as possible. Dean Barwell expressed gratitude for the reception of the Faculty of Education and introduced the modes of collaboration projects of University of Ottawa. The two sides discussed on academic exchange visits, joint training of dual master’s degree programs, overseas teaching internship programs and short-term exchange visits for Ph.D students,  joint cultivation of Ph.D students, summer programs and etc. The two sides also made specific plans for future collaborations as well.
