The Second Asian Education Doctoral Students Institute (AEDSI) jointly launched by Faculty of Education, ECNU, and the Faculty of Education and Human Development of the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), was held on ECNU Campus from October 30th to November 1st, 2023.
The event was comprised of a three-day training camp, two visits, three workshops and four keynote speeches, which brought together dozens of internationally renowned education experts, education professionals, and leaders from elite educational institutions. In line with the original intention of “enable Chinese doctoral students in education to apply their knowledge globally and to enable overseas students to better understand the educational landscape in China”, this training camp was mainly organized by over 20 doctoral students from ECNU and EdUHK, and 43 students from all over the world gathered in the Putuo campus of ECNU to participate in. Meanwhile, it attracted nearly 300 doctoral students from partner institutions home and abroad to register online. Among these are: member universities of GEDF and partner universities of Campus Asia Plus project initiated by the three Ministries of Education in China, Japan and Korea.
In addition to the organizing committee members and participants from ECNU and EdUHK, the domestic doctoral students participating in this training camp are mainly from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, and Taiwan Normal University and many other universities. Nearly half of the doctoral students come from overseas universities such as Harvard University, Cambridge University, University College London, University of Melbourne, University of Tokyo, Pennsylvania State University, and Seoul National University, etc.
